Saint Bauzile

 
350 meters high, 212 inhabitants, 700 hectares area.
The village is situated in a mountain pass beetween Andance's montain and the massif of the Coiron, half-way beetween Privas and Montélimar. It's part of the towns'community Barrès Coiron.

Saint Bauzile
- is caracterised by basatic stones'constructions spread over several hamlets around whose new constructions came to relate. The town center has been entirely restaured and developped to offer to the tourists game spaces and conviviality. Otherwise, traces of a casadéen priory depending from the abbey of La Chaise-Dieu were found on one stumble over the village.
- has some treasures buried in a paleontological site which is pat of the richest one of Europe : the Andance's mountain. The latter contains various life signs (fishes, mammals, insects, vegetals, amphibians...) conserved intacts in a rock called "Diatomée". This deposit of diatomaceous earth, private operating site, is extracted from the mountain, and treated in a factory at the site (CECASA); the finished product being used as filter aid, excipients,...
- The hiking paths around the town offer amazing panoramas where you can see the Chomérac hill, the Coiron mountains, or a little more far away the Vercors or the Alpes
